Little Tikes Car Model
This project was heavily inspired by the Little Tikes Car which dominated my childhood. All parts were designed and assembled in solidworks.
The body was a difficult part to create as it was a shape with smooth edges, and curved lines. I traced a reference image but could not decide if I should have mirrored or extruded the body. The edges of the car were rounded and smooth. I tried lofting along the edge. It resulted in rough corners. My first iteration is shown in the middle. I came up with a different plan. I created one half of the car and mirrored it. I used shell to hollow out the car and chamfered the edges as much as possible to smooth out the edges. My later iteration is on the right. This was used in the assembly of the car.
This is the exploded diagram (left) and sectional views of the Little Tikes Car on the (right).
